How we choose recommendations

Maison Meows publishes practical information about life with cats and dogs, with considered recommendations for products, stays and services.

Our selection criteria

We assess intended use, fit, cleaning, maintenance, limitations and information from primary sources. A higher commission is not a reason to rank a product higher. A useful recommendation includes who it suits and who should skip it. Sometimes the recommendation is to keep what you own.

Research is not hands-on testing

This first edition is based on published specifications and policy research. We do not claim to have personally tested products, visited hotels or obtained veterinary review. If a future article includes testing or professional review, it will identify the method and reviewer.

Hotel evidence

We distinguish a published policy from a property that still needs confirmation. We record the source and date checked, and ask readers to get written approval for their exact animal and stay. Marketing language cannot establish temperament fit or a calm stay.

Updates and corrections

Sources can change. Send corrections, broken links and policy changes to our contact form. Include the page URL and a primary source where possible.
